1. Introduction
Welcome to NoStrangers.
NoStrangers Limited ("NoStrangers", "we", "our" or "us") operates a trust and safety platform designed to help people verify who they are before meeting in person.
Whether you are meeting someone through an online marketplace, social media, dating platform, community group or another online service, NoStrangers allows both people to complete a secure verification process and decide exactly what verified information they wish to share before they meet.
Protecting your privacy is fundamental to our business. Trust is at the centre of everything we do, and that extends to how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains:
- what information we collect;
- why we collect it;
- how we use it;
- when we share it;
- how long we keep it;
- how we protect it; and
- your rights regarding your personal information.
By using NoStrangers you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy.

NoStrangers provides a platform that enables users to exchange Trust Requests before meeting in person.
A Trust Request is a secure verification process that allows each participant to verify themselves and decide what verified information they wish to share with the other participant.
NoStrangers is not a dating platform, marketplace or social networking service.
Our purpose is to increase confidence and transparency between people who choose to meet.
3. Who Can Use NoStrangers
You must be at least 18 years of age to use NoStrangers.
By creating an account, purchasing a Trust Request or completing any verification process, you confirm that you satisfy this minimum age requirement.
If we become aware that a person under 18 has used the platform, we may suspend or remove their access and delete their information where appropriate.
4. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies whenever you:
- visit our website;
- create a Trust Request;
- respond to a Trust Request;
- verify your identity;
- verify your photographs;
- purchase Trust Requests;
- subscribe to Premium;
- contact us for support; or
- otherwise use NoStrangers.
This Privacy Policy also applies to information collected through our website and web application.
5. Types of Users
NoStrangers currently provides two methods of using the platform.
Pay As You Go
Every new user receives one introductory Trust Request.
Once this introductory Trust Request has been used, additional Trust Requests may be purchased individually.
Verification is generally completed for each Trust Request.
Premium
Premium subscribers receive ongoing subscription benefits, including the ability to retain certain verified information for convenience during applicable verification validity periods.
Premium subscribers may also retain verified profile photographs and other features available under their subscription.
There is no permanent Free account tier.
6. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends upon how you use NoStrangers.

This may include:
- your full name;
- email address;

- age;
- gender (if you choose to provide it);
- profile photographs;
- uploaded photo albums;

- any other information you voluntarily provide.
You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate.

- facial verification photographs;
- liveness verification images;
- uploaded government identification;
- verification outcome;

Verification information is collected solely for the purpose of providing our verification services.

- expiry time;
- verification method used;
- information selected for sharing;
- confirmation that a Trust Request was completed; and
- system logs relating to that Trust Request.
We do not publicly publish Trust Requests.
Payment Information
If you purchase Trust Requests or subscribe to Premium, payment processing is provided by Stripe.
NoStrangers does not receive or store your complete payment card number.
We may receive limited payment information from Stripe such as:
- payment status;
- subscription status;
- billing country;
- transaction identifiers; and
- customer identifiers necessary to administer your account.
Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy practices.
Technical Information
Like most online services, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address;
- browser type;
- operating system;
- device type;
- session identifiers;
- authentication records;
- security logs;
- approximate connection location (where applicable);
- error logs; and
- information necessary to detect fraud or abuse.
This information helps us operate, secure and improve the platform.
7. Identity Verification
Identity Verification is provided through Veriff.
When you choose Identity Verification, Veriff performs verification using technologies including:
- government-issued identification review;
- facial liveness detection; and
- facial comparison.
Veriff determines whether the person presenting the identification appears to match the person completing the verification process.
NoStrangers relies upon Veriff's verification technology.
NoStrangers does not manually inspect government-issued identification as part of ordinary platform operations.
8. Photo Verification
Photo Verification is provided using Amazon Web Services Rekognition.
Photo Verification allows uploaded photographs to be compared against a verification selfie using facial comparison technology.
This process is intended to increase confidence that the uploaded photographs appear to belong to the same individual completing the verification.
Photo Verification does not determine a person's legal identity.
Instead, it helps demonstrate consistency between the uploaded photographs and the verification images.
9. Biometric Information
Some verification methods require the processing of facial images.
Facial images are processed solely for the purpose of completing the verification service requested by the user.
NoStrangers does not use facial images to:
- identify unknown individuals;
- search public databases;
- perform mass facial recognition;
- build advertising profiles;
- sell biometric information;
- market products; or
- analyse users for commercial profiling.
Biometric information is processed only to provide the verification service selected by the user and to maintain the integrity and security of the platform.
Where third-party verification providers process biometric information on our behalf, they do so in accordance with their own contractual and legal obligations.
10. How We Use Your Information
